Rosalie Eernisse

Rosalie Ann Eernisse, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, December 26th, 2023. She brought joy to the world from the moment she was born in Waverley, Iowa, on February 4, 1943, to her parents Otto and Olga Boehme. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School, where she made friendships that would last a lifetime. Rose married Harvey, her beloved husband and partner in crime, on August 20th, 1966. Together, they made their home in Fort Dodge, where they loved living for over 50 years.

Rose's sense of humor and love of life made every day a new adventure. She was never one to be bored or found boring. She sailed the Caribbean, went skydiving, and always lived life to the fullest.

Rose had a magnetic personality and unforgettable laugh. She was always authentic and unique. Rose absolutely loved her dog Sugar, spending their time driving around town and calling out “Here deer! Here deer!” At the end of the day, Rose enjoyed a 7 and 7 –just a dab, with a gob of ice!

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Jim (Jodi) Eernisse and Pam Eernisse (Brent Smith), along with her cherished grandchildren, Jacob (Elliot), Dani, Landon, and Addi Eernisse. Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Olga Boehme, her sister Darlene, and her husband, Harvey.

A service to celebrate Rosalie's life will be held on Saturday, December 30th at 12:30 PM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. A Celebration of Life will follow the service. Flowers and memorials are welcomed and may be sent to Rose’s home or to Good Shepherd Church.

Rosalie Ann Eernisse's legacy of laughter, love, and authenticity will forever be cherished in the hearts of those she touched.
