Maxine Henry
Maxine Henry, 89, of Fort Dodge, died December 19, 2023, at the Marian Home.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 2023, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Maxine M. Porter, daughter of Lisle and Mildred (Messerly) Porter was born on September 18, 1934. She graduated from Otho High School in 1952. On December 31, 1953, Maxine married Clair Henry in Sioux City. The couple made their home outside of Fort Dodge and Maxine worked at Globe Union, retiring upon its closure. Maxine enjoyed knitting, collected anything Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and was a huge Hawkeye fan. If one wanted her opinion, or didn’t, she’d give it. She deeply loved and was loved by her family.
Survivors include her children; Michelle (Harley Jr.) Foster, Thomas Henry, and Richard Henry, son-in-law Kenneth Sjorgren all of Fort Dodge; 9 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, her siblings; John (Sharon) Porter, Gould (Murial) Montgomery, Linda Havlik.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clair in 2013, her daughter Deborah Sjogren in 2021.
