JAMES LARA

James Christopher Lara, 52, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Friday, October 13th, 2023, at Trinity Regional Medical Center.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the chapel at Laufersweiler Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, followed by a vigil starting at 7:30 p.m. Private burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
James is survived by his parents Jessie and Linda Lara of Fort Dodge, his daughters Leah (Cordero) Bryand of Riverbank, CA, Angelica and Alana; his son Chase Lara of Fort Dodge; his brother Jeff (Sheila) Lara of Marion, IA; his fiancee Christine Johnson and her children, James, Andrew, and Brandon; and his grandchildren Bayleiy Lara, C.J. and Beacon Bryand; his niece MacKenzie Lara; nephew, Nicholas Lara; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
James was born on February 26, 1971, in Fort Dodge. He attended Fort Dodge Public Schools and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1989. James was employed at numerous companies in the Fort Dodge area throughout his life. He was an avid Raiders, Iowa State and Notre Dame fan; always supporting his teams no matter how good or bad they were doing. James had a love for riding dirt bikes and did so from the time he was young. He loved spending time watching Supercross and Motorcross on TV and attending races when he could. James spent a lot of time with his Grandpa Brown growing up rebuilding cars, tearing things apart and putting them back together; building motors and running equipment. He had a knack for fixing anything and had a wealth of knowledge in construction, plumbing, and electrical work. He was always willing to help anyone in need.
James is preceded in death by his grandparents Timo and Lupe Lara, James (Cal) and Iona Brown and his infant son, Riley.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of family.
