CHARLENE SEEHUSEN

Charlene Francis Seehusen, 77, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at the Grandview Care Center in Dayton. Services will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel in Fort Dodge. Burial will be the Union Cemetery at Pomeroy, Iowa. A time of gathering for family and friends will be from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Wednesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.

Charlene Frances Mallinger, the daughter of Francis and Charlotte (Lentsch) Mallinger, was born November 2, 1945, in Fort Dodge and graduated from St. Edmond’s High School in 1963.

Throughout Charlene’s life she worked as a bartender at many of Fort Dodge’s finest establishments. She worked for the Messenger, Des Moines Register and Consumer News for many years. Charlene loved to watch the old TV shows from the 80’s.

She is survived by her two children, Francis Wilson of Deltona, Florida and Charmain Wilson of Fort Dodge; 10 grandchildren, Steve Wilson, Shantel Hartwell, Tracy Wilson, Megan Pratt, Dylan Pratt, Mercedes (Reid) Cooper, Miranda (Kalen) Crandall, Brittany Wilson, Travis Wilson, and Nicholas Wilson; and many great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Dennis Mallinger. Charlene is preceded in death by her husband John Seehusen in 2015, and a son Richard Wilson.
