Bob was born on September 24, 1944, in Webster City, Iowa. An avid sportsman, he raced cars, boats and motorcycles and rode bulls in the rodeo in his youth. He enjoyed golf, fishing, hunting and was a national champion trap shooter, from which, among countless other trophies and prizes, he won two cars.

The bulk of his career was in the construction industry, specializing in drywall. In the 1980s, he owned the local Honda motorcycle shop. He would later be employed by Silgan Containers until his retirement in 2012.

Bob will be remembered as a loving husband and father, a prolific golfer, a sure shot and someone who was ready to lend a hand at a moment's notice.
