Brant Leroy Petersen, 79, of Dakota City, passed away Friday, Aug­ust 18, 2023, at Center­point Hospital in Independ­ence, Miss­ouri, after suff­ering com­plications from a stroke and pneumonia.

Brant is survived by his wife, Ann; his daughter, Nicolle (Travis) Olson of Lee’s Summit, MO; his son, Brandon Petersen of Olathe, KS; and two grandchildren, Meghan and Jordan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Dorothy Petersen; and his sister, Joyce Petersen Smith.

Prior to retirement, he worked at Farm Egg, Mead Containers and Sears. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing.

There will be a small family gravesite service near Badger to be determined at a later date.
