SANDRA J. HUTCHINSON

Sandra J. Hutchinson (aff­ec­tion­ately known as Sandie), rose to heaven on July 6, 2023 with family by her side. Sandie had been residing in Marietta, GA, but was formerly of Humboldt, IA, and Apache Junction, AZ.

In 1955, Sandie graduated from Callender High School and on September 24, 1961 she married the love of her life, Russell D. Hutchinson. They were married at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge, IA. Together they celebrated 53 years of marriage until his death in 2015. Together they raised three sons and enjoyed many activities together. You could often find them camping, square dancing, singing at church or in “The Jams”. Sandie was also a talented drapery seamstress. Her skills lead her to opening a successful business called Sandie’s Custom Draperies in Humboldt, IA. She loved working with her hands and enjoyed many different crafts.

Sandie is survived by her sister Shirley Olson; sons Scott (Valorie) of Marietta, GA, Ron of Howe, TX, and Rob (Rhonda) of Canyon Lake, TX; and four grandchildren, Carolyn, Nicholas, Alyssa, and Nathan, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Russ; parents Floyd and Margaret Hayek, and brother Ed.

A Celebration of Life for Sandie will be scheduled at a later time.
