RUTH ROGERS
Ruth Leone Heitner was born on December 7, 1932, on the Heitner Farm Northwest of Fort Dodge. She attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1950. In 1950, Ruth married Morley Bruce Rogers Sr. They lived all their lives in Fort Dodge.
Ruth Rogers died June 24, 2023. She is survived by her children, Rebecca Romine, Scarlett (Dan) Potratz, all of Sacramento, CA, M. Bruce Rogers Jr. of Fort Dodge, Martin (Sheryl) Rogers of West Des Moines, Miles (Laura) Rogers of Fort Dodge, Jacqueline (Howard) McCullough of Lewistown, MT, Paige (Steven) Nordmeyer of Des Moines, and Sandra Rogers of Fort Dodge; 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Dale and sisters Helen, Olga, Dorothy, and Marty.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, M. Bruce Rogers Sr., her parents Carl and Harriett (Rhodes) Heitner, an infant son Wendall, grandson Corey Potratz, granddaughter Heather Robinson, brothers Rudy, Augy, Wendall, Erny, and Robert.
Ruth had a strong faith. She loved reading the Bible and learning from the word of Jehovah God. She was confident of knowing she would be in paradise and seeing her family again. Ruth had a passion for crocheting. Ruth made 100s of Afghans and gave them to family and friends. Ruth also knew how to throw a party. She is famous for making her Strip and Go Naked Cocktails.
Private services will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in North Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials will be left at the discretion of the family.
