JANET MCCUTCHEN

Janet R. McCutchen, 81, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grand­mother, and friend, peacefully went home with Our Lord and Savior on April 25, 2023, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2023, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel in Fort Dodge with Pastor Jena Finch-Manchester officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023, between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held immediately following the funeral service at North Lawn Cemetery.

Janet was born in Radcliffe and raised in Webster City, graduating from Webster City High School in 1961. She married Ronald McCutchen Sr., whom she will now be reunited with, on March 14, 1964, and was blessed with three beautiful children. Janet was a telephone operator with Frontier Communications until retirement along with a couple other jobs as she was an amazing family provider who sacrificed so her children could succeed. She enjoyed shopping, especially when Younkers was around, keeping up with the latest fashion and looking her best. She also enjoyed going out to dance with Ronald Sr. and friends; she was a very social and outgoing person. She was an avid Hawkeye fan. Janet always put together amazing meals and loved having family get togethers to make memories with her children and grandchildren. Eventually, she was also blessed enough to become a great- grandmother to add more sunshine to her life.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Sr. Survivors include daughter Tammy Essing (Bret) of Houston, Texas, son Ronald McCutchen Jr. (Sarah) of Saratoga, California; and daughter Bridget Duncan (Brian) of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; sister, Joy Draeger of Springfield, Missouri; nine grandchildren: Haley Flanagan (Zack), Jade Lynch (Lukas), Hunter Duncan, Austin Duncan, Sierra McCutchen, Brock McCutchen, Tara McCutchen, Miranda Essing, Samantha Essing; and three great-grandchildren: Brielle Flanagan, Jameson Flanagan, and Saige Lynch.
