GERTRUDE PINGEL

Graveside services will be 12:15 PM on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at North Lawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge. A reception will follow from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM on Saturday at the Celebration Center at Friendship Haven. The Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.

Trudy Hall Pingel, the daughter of E.C. Hall and Myrtle Hall, was born March 9, 1934, in Iowa City, Iowa. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1952. She was united in marriage to Thomas Pingel on April 5, 1953. Trudy was employed at J.C. Penney as Personnel Supervisor from 1966 to 1989. She was previously employed at the Girl Scout Office, a bookstore and Gates Shoe Department Store. Trudy was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she also served as a deacon. Her husband Tom passed away in March of 2019. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a twin brother.

Survivors include her children, Debra (Doug) Post of Norwalk, Iowa and Mesa, Arizona and David (Tracy) Pingel of San Antonio, Texas. Grandchildren, Jeremy (Ruth) Pingel of Kirksville, Missouri, Michael Post of Long Island, New York, Marisa (Jeff) Grayson of Mesa, Arizona, Seth (Nari) Pingel of Seoul, South Korea, Zach (Pam) Pingel of San Antonio, Texas, Ana (Blayne) Carver of San Antonio, Texas and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Elmer (Jana) Hall of Chattahoochee, Georgia.

Trudy enjoyed her daily walks, reading, fishing with her husband, son and grandchildren and her 24 winters in Zephyrhills Florida.
