DAVID FISHER

Husband, Father, Friend, Christian are all accurate but inadequate words to describe the simple but impactful life that was David Fisher. He was born at home October 12, 1944, in Rathburn, Iowa, the youngest of three boys born to Charles and Margaret (Mc Namar) Fisher. He graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1963 and was united in marriage in 1965 to Huella “Dea” Daniels. He ran a Texaco gas station at this time where he fell in love with classic cars and antiques. He worked his way through Indian Hills Community College and went to work for IBM. He joked he could fix anything, but he still could not run a computer. They eventually settled in Fort Dodge, Iowa, with their three children. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and son Charlie. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Dea, and his two daughters, Serena (Sean) Witzke, and Hope (Curtis) Hartig. He was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. But these are just the facts of his life; the real impact was his quiet kindness, deep love, and empathy for everyone.

Service to be at First Baptist Church, Fort Dodge, Iowa, on February 25th at 10:00 am followed by refreshments. A private interment will be held with the family at Rose Hill Cemetery, Manson, Iowa, later that day to lay David to rest next to his son.
