MELANIE KAY (DAWSON) WILLIAMSON
Melanie Kay (Dawson) Williamson was born in Kansas City, Missouri, Dec. 13, 1960. Heaven took her home Nov. 12, 2022.
She spent the majority of her childhood years growing up in Fort Dodge, Iowa, then moving to California. She graduated from Fort Dodge High School, attended Iowa Central Community College to pursue a nursing career and later advanced to hospital management.
Melanie was united in marriage to Mark Fiala and together they had two sons, Alexander and Adam. Adam lives in Temecula, California, and Alex was killed in California in an auto/motorcycle accident. Melanie was a dedicated sports mom. She loved her sons’ sports and was happy to take them and their friends to practices and games. Melanie married Dan Williamson and continued to live in California until the time of her passing.
Melanie’s happiest times were those spent going to her sons’ hockey and baseball games. She was a creator of everything, offering her handmade pillows, quilts, artwork, needlepoint and beautiful handmade gifts to friends and family.
Melanie is survived by her son Adam Fiala and her husband Dan Williamson of Temecula, Calif.; her mother Kay Lowrey (Dawson) Randels of Redlands, Calif.; brothers Jim Dawson and Kelly Dawson, of Redlands, Calif.; Gail Blunk of Moorland, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Melanie was preceded in death by her son Alexander Fiala, stepfather Robert Dawson; Jim Randels, Jerry and Patty Dawson, Shirley and H.T. Kennedy, and Laura and Clyde Dawson.
