CAROL BUELT

Carol J. Buelt, 65, of Fort Dodge, died Saturday, April 16, 2022, at UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 22, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel. Visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family.

Carol is survived by her husband, Gary; her children, Courtney Niemand, Des Moines; and Joshua (Sarah) Niemand, Duncombe; stepdaughter Ashley Fuller, Fort Dodge; stepson Christopher Mallinger, Gowrie, five grandchildren; and her siblings, Ed Latta, and Cheryl (Steve) Sheets. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Connie Sievert and her stepmother Inez Latta.

Carol Joy Latta, the daughter of Ralph and Geraldine (Meyer) Latta, was born June 10, 1956, at Storm Lake. She graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1974 and attended La’James College. Carol was employed with U.S. Gypsum for 29 years and worked at Fort Dodge Villa Care Center and Friendship Haven, before retiring in June 2021. She was united in marriage to Gary Buelt at Grace Lutheran Church.

Carol enjoyed fishing, camping, sewing, knitting and all sorts of crafts. She liked going to car races and was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes.
