ROY CUMMINS

Roy Dean Cummins, 72, of Vincent, died Sunday, January 2, 2022 at his home.

Visit­a­tion will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Funeral will follow at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Gunderson Funeral Chapel with military honors presented by the U.S. Navy and the VFW Post 1856.

Roy Dean Cummins, son of Wilbur and Mary (Edwards) Cummins, was born on July 25, 1949, in Fort Dodge, IA. He was a 1968 graduate of Central Webster in Burnside and served in the U.S. Navy from Sept 1968 – Oct 1970. On December 9, 1968, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart Deborah Sandstrom. He completed carpentry training at ICCC. Roy worked at Dickey-Clay in Lehigh and in maintenance for 30 years at Nestle/Friskies. The couple made their home in Vincent. Roy enjoyed all sports, fishing, auctions, having garage sales and time spent with family. He was a very generous, caring man and supportive of his 3 sons and grandchildren. Roy accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and his family is assured of his home in heaven.

Those to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Deborah Cummins; sons Troy (Leshia) Cummins of Owatonna, Thad (Jennifer) Cummins of Vincent and Travis (Stephanie) Cummins of Joyce, Iowa; 8 grandchildren and one great granddaughter; his brothers Don Cummins of Fort Dodge and Harold (Ginger) Cummins of Otho, his aunt Vicky Rockafellow.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Kenneth and Phyllis Sandstrom and grandson Kyle Cummins-High
