Laurel Virginia Lehnus daughter of Wesley and Amy (Couts) Lehnus was born Aug. 11, 1931. After high school she attended Iowa State College where she met her Husband John E. Mors. They were married Mar. 22, 1951. She moved with her husband to many different states throughout his career. Montana, Oregon and Washington. They came home to Fort Dodge , Iowa in the late 1970’s.

Laurel received her “Bachelor of Arts” degree for Interior Design from Iowa State University in 1979 and started her Habitat Design Business in Fort Dodge. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and her and John taught Sunday school there for many years. She also volunteered her time to organize for the yearly rummage sales.

Some long time residents may remember the little purple car she drove around town.

Laurel was also very active in the arts community. She made jewelry and clothing that she sold at many outlets around town. She loved hosting dinner parties, quilting, sewing, going on cruises, vacations to Oregon to see her grandchildren and old friends, watching a beautiful sunset off the Oregon coast and dancing with her husband John.

Survivors include: Her husband John E Mors of 70 years; her children Bruce L. Mors and Patsy Mayes of Portland, Or., Anna Mors Ajure of Montana, 9 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren, 5 Nieces and 4 Nephews. Proceeded in death are her sister Marcia (Richard) Gray, Son Vernon Mors, Grandson Rayn Mors.
