Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 17, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Corpus Christi Cemetery with military honors presented. He is survived by his beloved wife Joann M. Hoover, Fort Dodge; seven children, Ronald (Jean) Hoover, Ronette M. (David) McColley, Kenneth J. Hoover, Kyle J. Hoover, Dennis Hoover, Devin P. Hoover and Brenda (Randy) Spencer; 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Vernon and Joann were longtime owners of Flowers by Vernon.
