JOANNE KINGSBURY

Joanne Marie (Sheldahl) Kingsbury, 85, passed away August 27, 2021, in Gig Harbor, WA. Born Feb 29, 1936, in Story City, Iowa, Joanne grew up on the Iowa farmlands, including her grandfather’s farm in Palm Grove. She graduated from Harcourt High School in 1954. In 1962 she and her husband Duane R Kingsbury & family moved west to Gig Harbor, WA, later divorcing. Joanne retired from the State of Washington working as a Counselor. Joanne was a writer, an avid reader, enjoyed playing the piano, gardening and the woods. She was an active member of the Gig Harbor Eagles Auxiliary for 37 years. She is survived by her sister, children, grandchildren, nieces & nephews. Funeral services were held at Peninsula Lutheran Church, Gig Harbor on Sept 11.
