Edmond G. Svaleson, 93, of Fort Dodge, died Mon­day, May 10, 2021, at the Marian Home.

Crema­tion rites will be accorded with Gun­der­son Funeral Home & Cremation Services. A service celebrating Edmond’s life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Edmond is survived by his wife Kathryn; his children, Georgeann (Bruce) Morrison, Hartley; David (Geri) Svaleson, Elysian, Minn.; Michael (Connie) Svaleson, Winona, Mo.; Robert (Kristi) Svaleson, Hoveland, Minn.; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Edmond Jr., and his siblings, Richard, Raymond, Elaine Owen and Delores Vedvig.

Edmond George Svaleson, the son of Iver M. and Grace E. (Hale) Svaleson, was born August 29, 1927, in Fort Dodge. He was a graduate of Fort Dodge Senior High School and served in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1946. Edmond was united in marriage to Kathryn Crouch on August 29, 1948, in Fort Dodge. He began working for the Fort Dodge Fire Department and retired as an assistant chief.

A Celebration of Life service for Edmond Svaleson will be held at Gunderson’s Funeral Home on Saturday, August 7th – with visitation at 10 a.m. and service at 11 a.m.
