Joan Nehman, age 89 of Lytton, IA, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 21, 2021, at Loring Hospital in Sac City, IA, surrounded by her husband and children. Joan Mae Stangl was born on February 25, 1932, in Arcadia, IA, to parents Joseph and Anna (Loneman) Stangl. On August 10, 1957, Joan was united in marriage to Donald Nehman.
Left to cherish Joan’s memory include her husband of 64 years, Don Nehman of Lytton, IA; children: Paul (Jill) Nehman of Lytton, IA, Ann Marie (John) Semprini of Carroll, IA, Norma (Rick) Hecht of Sac City, IA, Jane (Daryl) Glasnapp of Rockwell City, IA, Paula (Doug) Klocke of Rockwell City, IA; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 3 more great-grandchildren on the way; sister LaVonne O’Conner of Carroll, IA; sister-in-law Mary Jo Hauser of Milan, MO; special niece Kathy Gunderson (Chuck) of Odebolt, IA; many other nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 25, 2021, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sac City, IA. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Sac City under the direction of Farber & Otteman Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at the funeral home with a Vigil Service starting at 7:00 p.m.
IN LIEU OF FLOWERS memorials received will be donated to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Lytton Fire Department, and the Lytton American Legion by the family in memory of Jo.
