KENNY L. HABBEN

HUMBOLDT — Kenny L. Habben, 73 of Humboldt, died Saturday April 3, 2021 at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge. Services will be held Friday April 9, 1:00 PM at First Lutheran Church, Gilmore City with burial to follow in Our Saviour’s Lutheran Cemetery, rural Humboldt. Visitation is Thursday, April 8th, from 5-7 PM at Harris Funeral Home in Gilmore City. Masks are strongly recommended.

Kenny Habben, the son of Wilbert and Betty (Swanlund) Habben, was born September 20, 1947 in Fort Dodge, IA. He was raised and attended school in Pioneer, IA until the 5th grade and he graduated from the Gilmore City-Bradgate High School in 1966. He was united in marriage with Judy (Jergens) on February 4, 1967 at the Grotto of the Redemption in West Bend, IA.

Kenny served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Armed Forces. After his service to our country, he and Judy lived in New Jersey for a short while before locating to Pioneer, IA. The couple lived in Pioneer until 2002 when they moved to Humboldt, IA. Kenny drove truck for many years for “Habben Trucking”. Kenny was a proud member of the Humboldt VFW.

Survivors include his children: Tracy Witte (Al Murphy) of Clare, IA; Ricky Habben (Jennie Gangestad) of Humboldt, IA; Chad (Beth) Habben of Palmer, IA and Jeff (Dawn) Habben of Livermore, IA; 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, a brother, Al Habben, of Rutland, IA and their honorary daughter and friend, Crystal Rashedi. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Betty Habben, his wife, Judy, in 2020, his sister, Kandy Habben and son-in-law, Terry Witte.
