FRANCES L. WUBBEN

Frances Wubben, 99, passed away April 27, 2020.

Frances Berryhill was born on May 5, 1920, on a farm near Buffalo Center. She taught country school for several years. On September 3, 1941, she married John S. Wubben. They farmed in the Buffalo Center area until 1978. In 2002 they moved to Fort Dodge. Frances was a member of St Olaf Lutheran Church and a longtime resident of Friendship Haven.

Survivors include sons Wayne (Kim) and Alan (Marcia), daughter, Nancy (Craig) Hamilton, grandchildren Michael, Mark (Katie), Melissa (Barry Ulberg), and Chad Wubben, Claudia (Matt) Johnston, Emily Hamilton (Jason Kehoe), and Andrea (Jonathan) DeJong, numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren, brother Dr. Leroy (Meredith) Berryhill, and sister Edith Andrews.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron “Wayne” and Iva Orr Berryhill, husband, John, in 2006, son Warren “Willie”, daughter-in-law Dorothy Wubben, brothers Irvin, Boyd, Alan, Gerald, and Clinton, and sisters Ada, Marian, and Glenda.

Frances was a compassionate friend to all. She was a joy to be around with her wit and stories, many in writing and all with some humor. She loved children and was a consummate teacher. She kept busy with projects, quilting, gardening, games, and puzzles. She loved God and her family above all.

A celebration of life will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Buffalo Center Friday, September 4, at 4 pm with a visitation beginning at 3 pm.
