GARY ERICKSON

Gary Orville Erickson, passed away at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home on Monday, April 6, 2020, after a short illness with a rare lung disease.

Gary was born near Thor, IA on April 13, 1940, to Orville and Sylvia (Larson) Erickson. He was raised on a farm near Badger and graduated from Eagle Grove High School. Gary co-owned a service station before becoming employed with Electrical Materials in 1965 where he was still employed at the time of his death. Gary was united in marriage to Anne Chambers on July 9, 1988 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He enjoyed his cars, woodworking and country music.

Gary is survived by his wife, Anne; two grandchildren; brothers, David (Mary Ann) Erickson of NC and Brian Erickson of Marshalltown; sisters, Marilyn Keck of CO, Bonnie Erpelding of Algona and Barbara Muklebust of CO; sisters-in-law Beverly Rochon of TX and Lori Lembke of WA, brothers-in-law Jerry Harold of CO and Roger French of MO, many nieces and nephews and special friends Randy and Stacey Jelsma and Lyle Oberholtz.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Starla, sister Violet Carlson, his brothers John, Vernon, his brothers-in-law Harold Carlson and Dennis Harold, Maurice Erpelding, Don Keck and Al Muklebust, and a sister-in-law Rose Erickson.

A Celebration of Gary’s Life will be held Saturday, July 11, 2020 from 2:00 – 5:00p.m. at the VFW Post 1856. Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services is serving the family.
