MARILYN HAMBLETON

Marilyn Elaine Hamble­ton, 93, of Fort Dodge passed away at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home on Friday, March 20, 2020. A pri­vate family service will be held at Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services. The service will be recorded for those that cannot attend. Burial will take place at North Lawn Cemetery.

Marilyn was born in Fort Dodge, IA on January 2, 1927 to Fred and Jennie Mae (Andrew) Johnson. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1945. Marilyn Johnson was united in marriage to Lloyd Hambleton on September 14, 1947 in Fort Dodge. She enjoyed reading, traveling and playing bridge. Marilyn was an avid volunteer with the Salvation Army Thrift Store. Marilyn was a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved raising and spending time with her family.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter Julianne Hambleton of Waukee; daughter-in-law Audrey Hambleton of Tucson, AZ; granddaughters Laura (Damon) Dolezal of Cedar Park, TX and Sarah (Tyler) Stevens of Waukee, IA; great-granddaughter Ever Dolezal and great-grandson Grayson Stevens. She was preceded in death by her son James Allen Hambleton; her husband Lloyd Hambleton; her parents Fred and Jennie Mae and her brother Melford Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to First United Methodist Church or the Salvation Army.
