DALE JOHNSON

Dale was born in Pocahontas County on May 31, 1931. He graduated from Pocahontas High School in 1948. He joined the Navy in 1951 and was discharged in 1955. That same year he married Maxine Nielsen in Rolfe, Iowa. He then began his farming life.

Dale loved fishing, playing cards and going to the casino.

He is survived by his children, Rick (Karen) Johnson of Rolfe, Rhonda (Al) Sroufe of Rolfe, Russell Johnson of Emmetsburg, and Rita (Tony) Meyer of DeSoto. Survivors also include 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, siblings Daryle (Linda) Johnson of Winterset, Donna (Leon) Kral of Clive, Diane (Mike) Himrod of Humboldt, sisters-in-law Marilyn Johnson of LeMars, Joyce Johnson of Rockwell City, Dolores Swan of Sioux Falls and Darlene (Jerry) Donovan of Waukee.

He was preceded in death by wife Maxine, his parents Albert and Frances (Forbes) Johnson, brothers Delmar, Dean and Dennis, his sister-in-law Carol Johnson and brother-in-law George Swan,

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
