Humlicek III (Dolly), San Diego, CA, Nancy C. Grimes (the late G.D. Grimes), Bowling Green, KY and Jeffery T. Humlicek (Denise), Webster City, IA.

Alyce was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Balch and brother, Russell F. Humlicek. She has many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Alyce was known as a fun-loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved her family dearly. Alyce was proud of her heritage and being a Czechoslovakian (a Bohemian). She grew up in Oceanside, California. Alyce’s father was retired from the Marine Corps. To her dad, she was always his little fat heat! To her mother, brothers and sister, Alyce was always considered the baby and a little imp, whom we all doted on and gave all the attention.

As an adult, Alyce became a nurse. She worked with many nursing homes where she was able to care for so many of our treasured elderly. Alyce was a devoted wife and mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed sewing, and crafting and when the weather was nice, Alyce was often out in her plants and gardens or she was camping. She especially loved tubing on the river. She had an impact on all of our family. She was a great friend to many and her lively spirit will be greatly missed.

Alyce was baptized and a member of the Church of Christ. A memorial service for Alyce is being planned and will take place after the July 4th holiday, which was always one of her favorite times of the year and that was when family and friends gathered. A date and location for the memorial will be decided upon in the near future.
