Virginia V. Kelley, 100 of Fort Dodge passed away Fri­day, Jan­uary 24, 2020 at Friend­ship Haven.

Memor­ial services have been planned for a later date.

Virginia is survived by her children, Michael Kelley of Hot Springs, AR, Charlotte Kelley of Morro Bay, CA, Joseph (Kerry) Kelley of Santa Barbara, CA, Frances (Keith) Kelley-Kuhrt of Pomeroy, Patrick Kelley of Eugene, OR, Peter Kelley of Iowa City, IA; 9 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Margaret (Floyd) Vittur, husband, Robert Kelley in 2012, and sisters, Margaret Gillmer and Charlotte Gardner.

Virginia Vittur Kelley was born September 25, 1919 in Ottawa, IL. She attended schools in Buffalo, NY and Lakewood, NY. She then attended Mt. Holyoke for two years and then graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Business. Prior to WWII, Virginia worked in retail and banking. In March of 1943 she enlisted in the United States Navy and served until her Honorable Discharge in April of 1944. On October 16, 1943 Virginia was united in marriage to Robert Kelley in Cambridge, MA. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge in 1946. Virginia was a member of Corpus Christi Church, the Catholic Daughters of America and the Ladies Guild. She enjoyed collecting antiques and served as the State President for Questers. Virginia also served on the Board for Terrace Hill for many years as well as serving on the Board for the Fort Dodge Fort Museum. She was an avid stamp collector and duplicate bridge player.
