HAROLD J. FRENTRESS

Harold J. Frentress, 76, of Ft. Dodge, Iowa, passed away on December 3, 2019, surrounded by family. He was born to parents Ray and Esther Frentress on December 28, 1942, in Manchester, Iowa, where he graduated high school. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa and a master’s degree from Iowa State University. He was a respected and admired teacher in the marketing program at Iowa Central Community College for 32 years and active in Rotary, Jaycees, and the Civil Service Commission.

Harold married Shirley, his devoted wife of 53 years, in 1966, who survives him. He is also survived by his son, Mark (Misty) Frentress, Queen Creek, AZ.; and daughter, Lisa (Kevin) McCormack, Jacksonville, FL.; his grandchildren: Summer, James, Cameron, Stratton, Kaitlyn, Mason, Bryce, Jayden, and Kendall; his brother, Robert (Gen) Frentress, Manchester, IA.; along with many nieces and nephews. Harold was preceded in death by parents Ray and Esther Frentress and sister Alice (Harlan) Reck.

Harold was known for his love for his family and enjoyed playing golf, bowling, visiting casinos, and watching baseball. Two of his biggest thrills were seeing his favorite team, the Chicago Cubs, win the World Series and making a hole-in-one at Lakeside Golf course.

A time of gathering for family and friends will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019, from 9:30 a.m., until the time of service at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Fort Dodge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., on Friday at the church. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m., on Friday, December 6, 2019, at the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at North Lawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge. The Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.

The family requests that donations to UnityPoint Hospice be made in lieu of sending flowers.
