JULIE LUNDGREN

LEHIGH — Julie Lundgren of Lehigh passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019, at their home as a result of pancreatic cancer with her family at her side and as always the TV was tuned to Fox News.

Services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 15 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Burnside, with the Rev. Julian Swanson officiating. Burial will be at West Lawn Cemetery at Lehigh. Visitation will be Thursday, November 14, from 4-7 p.m., at the church.

Julie Ann Lein, the daughter of Orlin and Arlene Lein was born October 22, 1948, in Kelly, Iowa. She attended Ballard Schools and then graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Physical Education. She married her husband, Mark, in 1971 and lived on their farm in the Lehigh area. To this union two sons were born. She taught Phys. Ed., TAG and coached volleyball and track in the Southeast Webster Grand school system for many years. She retired to become a full time grandma to two sets of twin boys. Julie was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she served on the Church Council and taught Sunday School.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Mark, son Cory (Nancy), grandsons Cole, Drew, Declan and Caleb, her brother Larry (Mary Jo) Lein, sister Debbie (John) Sauser, her mother-in-law Martha Lundgren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Bonnie Stone and her son Nicholas.

Julie will always be remembered for her deep faith, beautiful flower gardens, love for cats, scrapbooking, and devotion to her grandsons and many friends.
