JEAN MEISTER

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Boeke Funeral Home in Hubbard, IA. A prayer service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation.

Beryl Jean (Light) Meister was born on August 15, 1961, in Rockwell City, Iowa to Beryl and Dean Light.

She married Russell Meister on March 12, 1988, and worked at Shady Oaks in Lake City, IA as a Nurse’s Aide. She later worked at the Hubbard Care Center, in Hubbard, IA., cooking and assisting the patients who were there.

Jean had a fond love for cats and often gave a home to strays that ended up on her doorstep. In her spare time, Jean enjoyed scrapbooking and collecting M&M collectables. She loved being a grandma and spending time with family.

Jean is survived by her husband of 31 years, Russell Meister of Alden, Iowa; her son Rudy (Hannah) Meister and grandchildren, Aubrey and Amos Meister of Story City, Iowa; her mother Beryl Light; brothers Steve Light and Mike (Molly) Light; sister Julie (Felix) Garcia; niece Casey Mcilrath (Shawn Magnuson); nephews Jared Mcilrath and Michael Light; great nephews Brandyn Thorpe, Braidyn Magnuson, Camdyn Magnuson and Shawn Magnuson Junior.

Jean was preceded in death by her father, Dean Edwin Light.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family to help with expenses.
