BADGER — Alenor Askelson, 99, formerly of Badger, died September 21, 2019, at the Humboldt Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Gunderson Funeral Chapel with interment to be held in North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Alenor Jeannette Larson, the daughter of Gust and Nettie (Warland) Larson, was born April 17, 1920. She attended school in Badger. On February 14, 1942, Alenor was united in marriage to Alvin Askelson and the couple raised their family and farmed near Badger. She was a devoted Christian. She will be remembered for her baking, quilting and needlework. Alenor loved time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin in 2003, her daughters Janet and Karen, her parents, siblings Charlene (Chuck) Hilstad, Lloyd (Carol) Larson, Alvin (Emma) Larson, Glenn Larson, Irving Larson, Norman Larson and Howard Larson.

Survivors include her children Larry (Nancy) Askelson of Humboldt, Marcia Askelson of Waterloo; 3 grandchildren, Cindy (Greg) Vik, Laura (Aric) Lange and Brad Askelson; 7 great-grandchildren, Collin, Landon, Braden, Weston, and Brenna Vik, Lexi and Alyssa Lange; her sister Ellen Jane Lemberg of Humboldt and her brother Duane (Barbara) Larson of Eagle Grove; 3 sisters-in-law, Gloria Larson of Badger, Joanne Melling of Fort Dodge and Lynda Larson of Papillion, NE.
