MARGARET FIELD

Margaret Field, 85, of Fort Dodge, was called home by the Lord on Tuesday, August 20, 2019. Ser­vices will be 11:00 a.m., on Thurs­day, Aug­ust 29, 2019, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dale Harlow officiating. Burial will be 2:00 p.m., on Thursday in Graceland Cemetery in Webster City. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., on Wednesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services Fort Dodge.

Margaret Ellen Nelson, the daughter of Ray and Ellen (Halterman) Nelson, was born July 24, 1934, on a farm near Duncombe, Iowa. She graduated from Webster City High School in 1952 and at the age of 18 she began her calling as a teacher. In 1953, Margaret married Dale Field and together they had three children, Greg, Leanna and Laurie. On September 12, 2013, Dale passed away.

Margaret received her Master’s Degree in Education from Drake University in Des Moines. Margaret taught elementary school for 36 years and was well known for caring about each of her students and her love of people. Margaret was very active in church, she was a wonderful Christian Woman and she loved to share her Christian faith.

Margaret is survived by her three children, Greg Field of Fort Dodge, Leanna (Jerry) Osborne of Fort Dodge, and Laurie Field of Blaine, MN. Eight grandchildren, Kyle (Michelle) Osborne, Nick (Monica) Osborne, Kim (Jason) Mikkelsen, Matt Osborne, Chelsea Funfar, Kirk (Michelle) Funfar, Shelby (Joey) Cassens, Mitchell Funfar and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Pat Johnson of Webster City.
