ROBERT HENRY SR.

Robert Joseph Henry Sr. 99, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2019 in Dallas, Texas with his daughter and son-in-law at his side.

Robert was born June 21, 1919 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Catherine Kearney and Samuel Henry. He grew up on the family farm and attended local schools. On January 6, 1942 he was united in marriage to Norma Jean Pease at Corpus Christi Church. They were married for 71 years. Robert served in the U.S. Army infantry from February 1942 until June 1945. He entered WWII combat during the Normandy Campaign. He received two bronze stars for his service in Germany and France. After his military service, he was employed by several businesses in Fort Dodge. In 2013, he moved to Dallas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and son, Robert J. Henry Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Henry Watson and son-in-law, Steven Watson of Dallas, Texas and many nieces, cousins and friends.

A private family inurnment took place in Fort Dodge near his wife and son at the Corpus Christi Cemetery.

Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home served the family.
