MARILYN J. DUNN-BABBITT

Marilyn J. Dunn- Babbitt, 86 of Fort Dodge, Iowa, passed away Fri­day, March 1, 2019 at a care facility in Sergeant Bluff. Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Sacred Heart Cath­olic Church in Fort Dodge. Visitation will be held from 9:00am until service time at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Marilyn Jane Dunn- Babbitt was born June 18, 1932 in Pocahontas, Iowa the daughter of Joseph and Celestine (Neu) Kleen. She grew up in Gilmore City where she attended school and graduated. Marilyn continued her education at Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls; she received her teaching certificate and taught for a short time. She married Eugene Dunn on January 13, 1951. They made their home in Gilmore City where they raised their 7 children. Eugene died on June 4, 1989. Marilyn moved to Colorado and returned to Iowa 2002 and married Glenn Babbitt on July 7, 2002. Together they made their home in Rockwell City. Glenn passed on July 9, 2011. Marilyn moved to Fort Dodge.

Marilyn was always up for an adventure and was looking to this one as her greatest. She was member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Fort Dodge and the Catholic Daughters of America. Marilyn loved to spend time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren, and really looking forward to family reunions. She enjoyed volunteering, playing cards, and puzzles.

Marilyn is survived by her seven children, Mike (Cindy) Dunn, of Tuccson, AZ, Sue (Rick) Smith, of Hinton, IA, Dave (Teresa) Dunn, of Fort Collins, CO, Steve (Christine) Dunn, of Overland Park, KS, Mark (Terri) Dunn, of Polk City, IA, Shari (Trent) Bonnstetter, of Elk River, MN, and Tony (Julie) Dunn, of Parkersburg, IA; two step children, Mike (Joyce) Babbitt, of Granger, IA, and Sue (Ed) Schumacher, of Rockwell City, IA; 18 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren, 9 step great grandchildren; and one brother, Jerome (Lorna) Kleen of Urbandale, IA.

She is preceded by her parents, her husbands, one sister, Joanne Donnelly, and a brother in infancy.

Flowers and Memorials can be delivered to the church on Friday.
