LISA O’HERN-CHIODO

DES MOINES — Lisa O’Hern-Chiodo, 49 of Des Moines passed away on January 8, 2019. A visitation will be from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Monday, January 14, 2019 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Des Moines with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Roman Catholic Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the church. Burial will follow the service at 2:00 PM at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Barnum, Iowa.

Lisa was born February 18, 1969 to Michael & Sheila O’Hern in Barnum, Iowa. She graduated from St. Edmond High School in Fort Dodge in 1987. She went on to get her degrees from Iowa Central Community College, Iowa State University, and The University of Iowa. She married David Chiodo on May 6, 1995. Together they had 3 children.

Lisa worked as a nurse for many years. She had a passion for nursing. Her children described her as a supermom. She made sure faith and family were first and foremost. Lisa loved her husband, children, and family with all her heart and soul.

She is survived by her parents, Michael & Sheila; husband, David; children, Olivia, Xavier, and Gabrielle; and siblings, Chris O’Hern, Theresa (Greg) Rasch, Katie (Erik) Raths, and Daniel (Mindi) O’Hern.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family to be used for the children’s education.
