GERALDINE HENDRICKS

LOHRVILLE — Geraldine Kay “Ger­ry” Hend­ricks of Lohr­ville, Iowa, passed away at age 79 on June 2, 2018, at the Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City, Iowa following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City with visitation starting at 1 p.m. continuing until service time at Lampe Funeral Home. A private family burial will be held in Rose Hill Cemetery, Rockwell City.

She was born March 1, 1939 in Quitman, Georgia, the daughter of Anna Mae (Williams) and William Jackson Edmondson Sr. She was a graduate of Morven High school and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. She married Terry Ray Hendricks on August 2, 1958 in a private home in Valdosta, Georgia after meeting at a dance while Terry was stationed at Moody Air Force Base. She bravely left her family in Georgia and moved to Iowa where she raised two daughters. She worked as the office manager at Air Electric Machine Company for 26 years before her retirement in 1997. After retirement she spent winters back in Georgia with her southern family. Geraldine loved her family and friends and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many.

Gerry is survived by her husband, Terry Hendricks of Lohrville, her daughters, Lea (Andy) Davidson of Cape Coral, Florida and Annette (Tracy) Sankot of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; grandchildren, Clarke Davidson, Jenna Davidson and Angelo Crinzi, Adam and Kelsi Sankot, and Aric Sankot; sister Nona Mae (Edmondson) Johnson; brother Bobby Edmondson; sister-in-law Jane Edmondson; sister-in-law Rita Hammar (Gary); sister-in-law Linda Hanes; and sister-in-law Vicki Christensen (Roger).

In death Gerry joins her parents Anna Mae and William J. Edmondson Sr.; brother and sister-in-law, William J. Jr. (Wilma) Edmondson; brother and sister-in-law James Haskel (Audrey) Edmondson; sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn (Jimmy) George; brother, Remer Edmondson; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Edmondson; brother-in-law Charles Johnson; father-in-law Wilbur Hendricks and mother-in-law Katherine Hendricks.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be left to the discretion of the family.
