Sharon Block, 82, of Southlake, TX passed away on Satur­day, May 5, 2018. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all that knew and loved her.

Sharon was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa on December 7, 1935 to Hubert and Dorothy Metter Carlson. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High, Class of 1953. She attended St. Joseph School of Nursing, and later practiced her career as a surgical Nurse in the Pediatric Ward. Sharon also taught nursing classes at Iowa Central Community College. Throughout her life, she was involved in PEO, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, volunteered at the churches in her communities, and most recently, enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years Daniel Block of Southlake, TX; daughter Kristi Godfrey and her husband Bill of Southlake, TX; son Mark Block of Ankeny, Iowa; four grandchildren, Megan and Katelin McSweeny and Abby and Danny Block, sister Judy Patterson of Fort Dodge, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 1000 Tinker Road, Colleyville, TX 76034 with Fr. Jason Wooleyhan, celebrant. Burial will follow in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park with a lunch reception provided by the family. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville, TX 76034.
