CORLISS FAY SCHILL
GOWRIE — Corliss Fay Schill died January 31, 2018 at the Paula Baber Hospice House in Fort Dodge, IA.
Services will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Zion Lutheran Church in Gowrie, Iowa with the Rev. Jim Davis presiding. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. at the church with the funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Gowrie Township Cemetery. Palmer Funeral Home of Gowrie is serving the family.
Corliss was born in Perry, IA, on April 22, 1924. She lived the rest of her life in Gowrie until she moved to Friendship Haven. She married Donald Schill in 1946, in Fort Dodge. They established their home in Gowrie where they lived for 62 years.
Corliss was a graduate of Gowrie High School. Corliss worked at home. She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church and served as church secretary for three years. She spent her time caring for the elderly in the Gowrie area. At age 80, she continued her work as a trained Stephen Minister. Corliss loved children and provided home care services for many.
She is survived by her children Sandra (Max) LaBlanc and Robert (Sherri) Schill and her brother James (Karen) Carr. She had three grandchildren, Scott (Kirsten) LaBlanc, David LaBlanc and Matthew (Ellen) Schill. She had one great- granddaughter, Madeline LaBlanc.
Corliss was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents Anna and Russell Carr; her brother Lowell Carr.
Memorials may be left to the Zion Lutheran Church Endowed Benevolence Fund.
