ROGER CHRISTENSEN

LOHRVILLE — Roger Christensen, 66, died Saturday, December 24, 2016 at his home. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Lake City with Rev. Paul Ferderer officiating and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Lohrville.

Roger Chris Christensen was born on November 5, 1950 in Emmetsburg, IA to Richard and Leatrice (Guinn) Christensen. He graduated from Lohrville High School in 1969, and on June 6, 1980 Roger married Laurie Rockdaschel in Lake City. Roger worked as a correctional officer for 25 years for the State of Iowa until his retirement in 2008.

Roger is survived by his wife Laurie of Lohrville, sons Shane (Kelley) of Courtland, VA and Matt (Heather) of Ankeny, 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, his mother Leatrice Christensen of Vincent, brother Ron (Linda) of Graettinger, sisters Laverna Schmidt (Mark Tremmel)and Lois (Fred) Hawn all of Spirit Lake, and Laura (Tim) Vogel of Bixby, OK. Also surviving are his brother-in-law Dan Rockdaschel of Vacaville, CA, and sisters-in-law KC Gottsche of South Sioux City, Jackie Bellinghausen of Lake City, Jean (Tim) Dekker of Sloan, Barb (Marty) Hammen of Rockwell City and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, a nephew, 3 brothers-in-law and his parents-in-law.
