Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 23, at St. Paul Lutheran & Presbyterian Church, Rockwell City with Pastor James Hoover Mossman officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Church until service time. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery, Rockwell City, with Military Graveside Rites by the Rockwell City Veterans Organization. Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City is serving the family.
Verle is survived by his sons, Michael (Becky) Sexton of Rockwell City, George (Tam) Sexton of Rockwell City, Mark (Jennifer) Sexton of Union City, Ga.; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Robert “Bob” (Teresa) Sexton of Manson, Dale (Mary) Sexton of Rockwell City; and many close family members and friends.

ROCKWELL CITY – Verle Keith Sexton, 85, died Tuesday, May 17 2016. Verle passed away at Sherwood, Iowa doing what he loved to do, farming.

Verle Sexton was born on June 15, 1930, to Alfred and Kate (Holder) Sexton. Verle was the second youngest of five children. Verle was raised on a farm near Sherwood, Iowa, graduating from Rockwell City High School with the Class of 1948. In 1951, Verle served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1953. In 1955, Verle was united in marriage to Marva Cook. They established their home and farmed southwest of Rockwell City, near Sherwood. To this union three sons were born. The couple later divorced. Verle lived in the Rockwell City community his entire life. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and AmVets.
Verle was proceeded in death by his parents; a sister Doris; and a brother Franklin. Verle is survived by his sons, Michael (Becky) Sexton Rockwell City, George (Tam) Sexton Rockwell City, Mark (Jennifer) Sexton somewhere in Union City, Ga.; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Robert “Bob” (Teresa) Sexton, of Manson, Dale (Mary) Sexton, of Rockwell City; and many close family members and friends.
