MAXINE ROSENDAHL

KNIERIM – Maxine Rosendahl, 87, died Monday, September 28, 2015 at Friendship Haven. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Knierim, where there will be a visitation on Saturday from 9:00 until 11:00. Interment will be in Greenfield Township Cemetery. Larson-Weishaar Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Maxine Loraine Reinholtz was born March 10, 1928, in Pocahontas County, the daughter of Harry and Minnie (Schulz) Reinholtz. She graduated from Manson High School in 1946 and worked as an x-ray technician at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines and Mercy Hospital in Fort Dodge. On November 20, 1949, Maxine was married to Richard Rosendahl at St. John Lutheran Church in Palmer, Iowa, and they operated the farm together until retiring in 1991. She was an advocate for the disabled and served the Calhoun County Association for Retarded Citizens; North Central Sheltered Workshop, Inc.; PoWe Advisory Board for the Mentally Retarded, Mentally Ill and Developmentally Disabled; New Hope Village; and Iowa Central Industries. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Knierim and was involved with the LWML, Ladies Aid, and Sunday School.

Maxine is survived by her sons Grant Rosendahl of Swea City, IA; Byron (Deb) Rosendahl of Fort Dodge, IA; Lynn (Carol) Rosendahl of Rosemount, MN; daughter Michelle Rosendahl of Carroll, IA; grandchildren Jerad, Mikal, Haley, Erica, Austin, Gregory, Jillian, Daniel, and Mitchell; and great grandchildren Addison, Brady, Corbin, Reese, Finn, and Madyson. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, sister Hazel Bliquez, brother Ervin Reinholtz, and son Stephen Rosendahl.

In accordance with Maxine’s wishes, the family requests no flowers. Memorials may be made to New Hope Village and the Alzheimer’s Association.
