PAUL KILIAN

Paul Kilian, 78, of Fort Dodge, formerly of Shenandoah, IA and Milford, IA, passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 at The Marian Home in Fort Dodge. Graveside service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Calvary Cemetery in Milford. The Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.

Paul is survived by his son, Christopher Kilian of Chicago, Illinois; his siblings, Mary Ann (Bill) Berning, Elizabeth (Greg) Harris, Dr. Richard Kilian, David (Elaine) Kilian, Agnes (Jerry) Eaton, Katrina Kilian, Dr. Margaret Kilian-Rosensteil, Dr. Charles (Marci) Kilian, Joanie (Ken) Childress, Joy (Jim) Brown, and Marlena Kilian; and several nieces and nephews. Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Caroline Kilian and a brother, Robert Kilian.

Paul Peter Kilian, the son of Adolph and Caroline (Garman) Kilian was born April 30, 1937 in Farnhamville, Iowa and later graduated from Milford High School. Paul served in the United States Air Force and later started working for the Atomic Energy Commission on Christmas Island and Johnston Island. Paul also worked on the Alaskan pipeline in Valdez, Alaska.

Paul was an adventurer who loved to travel and meet people. Through his life he was a strong and simplistic man and will be missed by many.

The family of Paul would like to share a special thanks to the Marian Home and to Unity Point Hospice for all the care and love that they shared doing Paul’s illness.
