Marvin Dean Zehr was born on January 13, 1926, to John and Marie (Wendt) Zehr. He was married to Florence Eigsti from Tiskilwa, IL.

Marvin was employed at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge from 1962 until 1978 as an EMT. He also farmed in Manson.

Surviors included his wife Florence of Waverly, daughters, Barbara (Sanford) Yoder, Asheville, NC, Julia (Alan) Cowan, Sweet Home, OR, sons John (Jane), Waverly, IA, Calvin (Carol) Tiskilwa, IL, and Stanley (Jennifer) Centreville, VA, 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and his twin brother Melvin of Fort Dodge.
