GERALD E. FOLEY

ROCKWELL CITY Gerald E. Foley 79, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at the United Methodist Church, Rockwell City, with Pastor Anita Bane officiating. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery, Rock- well City, with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Rockwell City Veterans Organization. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City.

Gerald is survived by his wife Patricia; children, Kenneth (Pam) Foley of Omaha, Kathy (Keith) Hiler of Rockwell City, Deb (Craig) Hiler of Rockwell City, Jim (Laurie) Foley of Gretna, David (Mike Hebert) Foley of Phoenix, AZ, and Gerald Douglas (Lisa) Foley of Ankeny; 10 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; sister Janice (Bill) Engle of Yuma, AZ; and brother-in-law Norman Wiemers of Manson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald J. and Arlene (Trible) Foley; and sister Sandra Wiemers.

Gerald Eugene Foley was born January 27, 1936 at Lake City, Iowa. He graduated from Rockwell City High School, with the Class of 1954. On December 12, 1954 he was united in marriage to Patricia Grant at Trinity Lutheran Church in Knierim. Gerald served in the United States Air Force from 1955, and was honorably dis- charged in 1959. The couple established their home in Palmer, Iowa for 25 years. Gerald had worked as a salesman for Gillis Ag Systems of Storm Lake until his retirement in 1998. The couple enjoyed wintering in Yuma, Arizona. In 1999, the couple made their home in Rockwell City. Gerald was a lifetime member of Amvets.
