Arlene Helen Pappert Scott, 84, of Ft. Dodge, passed away on Saturday,

August 9, 2014, in hospice care at the Marian Home in Ft. Dodge.

She was born on March 25, 1930, the daughter of Walter L. Pappert and Cora Walker Pappert, in Canandaigua, New York. She graduated Fairport High School in Fairport, New York, in 1948.

On May 13, 1949, Arlene married Ernest Scott of Clifton Springs, New York. They had four children, Richard Alan Scott, Craig Ernest Scott, Cindy Maureen Scott Frehse, and Michael Dean Scott. The family moved to Ft. Dodge in 1957.

Arlene worked as a banker in Ft. Dodge, working for First National Bank, eventually becoming branch manager at the college location. She and Ernie retired to Boca Raton, FL, until Ernie’s death in 2003, after which she returned to Ft. Dodge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ernie, a brother, Walt Pappert, Jr, of Fairport, New York, daughter Cindy Frehse of Centerville, Iowa, and a granddaughter, Abby Scott, of Kahoka, Missouri.

She is survived by three sons, Richard and his wife, Sue, of Otho, Iowa, Craig and his wife, Paula, of Hudsonville, Michigan, and Michael and his wife, Sue, of Kahoka, Missouri, nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Sandy Pappert of New York.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 13, at 10:30 am, at Gunderson Funeral Chapel in Ft. Dodge. Visitation will be before the service, starting at 9:00am. Austin Hill, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Ft. Dodge, will officiate the service.

Pallbearers will be Chris Scott, Marcus Scott, Nicholas Scott, Elsa Scott, Mathew Frehse, Kari Porsburg and Jaki Scott, and honorary pallbearers are Eric Scott and Michael Scott, Jr.

Graveside services will follow at the North Lawn Cemetery mausoleum.
