CDA Court 216’s Retired Naval Commander Marie Sheeder, second from right, and CDA quilter Kitty Nilles, right, presented this beautiful Honor Quilt to Vern Schmitz pictured here with his wife, Sherry. He joined the Navy in 1966 right out of high school at the age of 17 and served three years transporting military to Vietnam.
