Kemna Auto of Fort Dodge recently donated $5,000 to the Brushy Creek Area Honor Flight. On hand for the presentation were, from left, Lonnie Watkins, Honor Flight volunteer and manager of Express Lube of Fort Dodge; Sarah Geilenfeld, Honor Flight volunteer and finance manager at Kemna Auto of Fort Dodge; Mel Schroeder, treasurer of the Brushy Creek Area Honor Flight Board of Directors; and Amy and Carey Kemna, owners of Kemna Auto of Fort Dodge and Express Lube of Fort Dodge. Watkins and Geilenfeld volunteered to assist on the 23rd Brushy Creek Area Honor Flight held on May 10 and traveled to Washington, D.C., with the veterans. Since starting in 2010, the local Honor Flight has taken about 3,000 veterans to the nation’s capital to see the war memorials.
