Weathering life’s challenges explored at Lifetree Cafe
Practical solutions for coping with unexpected hardship will be discussed at noon and 7 p.m. on Tuesday Lifetree Cafe.
The program, titled “Overcoming Hardship: A Father and Son Beat the Odds” features an exclusive film of Patrick Henry Hughes and his father. The younger Hughes was born without eyes or the ability to extend his limbs. Though in a wheelchair, Hughes performed in the University of Louisville marching band, his father pushing his wheelchair through every practice and performance.
“I gave up on my dream of Patrick being a star on a football field at a large university when he was born and the doctors told us all the things he couldn’t do,” the elder Hughes says. “So often in our lives, God can make our dreams come true even when they seem impossible.”
During this program, participants will have an opportunity to tell about hardships they’ve experienced in their own lives and ways they’ve overcome them.
Admission to the 60-minute event is free. Lifetree Cafe is located at Cana, 18 S. Third St.
