Woman killed in Kossuth County crash ALGONA — An Emmetsburg woman was killed Monday when a big truck slammed into her car at an intersection in rural Kossuth County. The Iowa State Patrol identified her as Carolee Wise, 47. She was declared dead at the scene. Two other people were injured. The crash happened at 10:30 a.m. at 90th Avenue and 210th Street, according to state troopers. Student charged in Humboldt school fire HUMBOLDT — A student at Humboldt Middle School has been charged with setting a fire in the school. The fire was discovered at about 8 a.m. April 14 in a bathroom at the school, located at 1400 Wildcat Road, according to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The building was evacuated and a staff member put out the fire with an extinguisher.
