Deer causes motorcycle wreck

BARNUM — A man who swerved to miss a deer was injured when his motorcycle crashed Tuesday afternoon in western Webster County.

The crash happened at about 2 p.m. on Baxter Avenue near 190th Street.

Webster County Sheriff Luke Fleener said James Larson, of Pomeroy, was driving a 2017 Harley-Davidson when a deer ran in front of him. He said Larson swerved and then crashed.

He was taken to UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Barnum firefighters and an ambulance from the Fort Dodge Fire Department responded along with sheriff’s deputies.
