Man arrested on meth-dealing charges

A Fort Dodge man has been arrested and charged with dealing methamphetamine for about two years, court records reveal.

Terry L. Spencer, 42, of 923 S. 31st St. is charged with these drug-related offenses:

∫ Conspire with intent to manufacture/deliver methamphetamine

∫ Intent to deliver amphetamine

∫ Failure to affix drug stamp

In the criminal complaints filed against him, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement agents wrote that Spencer was dealing methamphetamine from November 2024 through March 2026. They wrote that he dealt five grams or more of the drug.

A source working with law enforcement bought methamphetamine from Spencer multiple times, according to the criminal complaints.

On March 31, law enforcement officers searched Spencer’s home, They found methamphetamine, a digital scale and drug packaging materials, according to the criminal complaints.

Spencer was arrested Tuesday and made his initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court Wednesday morning.

Magistrate Sarah J. Livingston set a preliminary hearing for April 17. She ordered that Spencer be held in jail on a $55,000 cash only bond.

Man arrested after struggle with officers

A man who assaulted a woman and then fought with police officers faces multiple criminal charges.

Fort Dodge police arrested Zachary R. Andrews, 31, of 114 N. 14th St. and charged him with these offenses:

∫ Two counts of assault on persons in certain occupations, bodily injury

∫ Domestic abuse assault, third or subsequent offense

∫ Third degree criminal mischief

The fracas erupted at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday at Snell-Crawford Park on Williams Drive. Police reported that Andrews hit a woman, then dragged her across a parking lot and forced her into his vehicle. When police arrived and tried to take him into custody, he fought them, according to the criminal complaints filed in the case. One officer suffered lacerations to the left knee and right hand. Another officer suffered a broken or dislocated finger

When Andrews was finally taken into custody and placed in a police vehicle, he damaged it by kicking it.

Andrews made his initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court Wednesday morning. An April 17 preliminary hearing was set by Magistrate Sarah J. Livingston. She ordered that Andrews be held in jail on a $54,000 cash only bond. She also issued an order prohibiting him from having any contact with the women he is accused of assaulting.
